RESEARCH INTERESTS & BACKGROUND:
I am a conservation biologist, whose aim is to generate data for evidence-based conservation of species and their habitats in biodiverse regions such as India. My work is driven by a strong interest in the ecology and conservation of mega-herbivores. For my doctoral research, I am investigating the movement ecology of Asian elephants that live in a highly fragmented and degraded landscape in Assam, India. By integrating GPS telemetry data with remote-sensing and field data, I aim to address key questions about space use and connectivity. Ultimately, this work aims to support landscape-level planning and develop effective approaches for mitigating human–elephant conflict and conserving Asian elephants in the region.
I received my BSc in Ecology and Conservation Biology from The University of Leeds in 2022 and my MSc in Ecological Applications from Imperial College London in 2023.
